Thank you
We would like to extend a huge thank you to our parents and families of the Friends of St Francis for organising a wonderful Christmas fair in school on Friday 28th November. The friends worked extremely hard to deliver a festive evening full of music, food, drinks, and host a fantastic variety of stall holders from our local community. We also had a very special visitor join us on the evening which made the evening magical for lots of children! We would also like to share a thank you to all those who came along to support our school on the evening, without your support we wouldn't be able to put on these fun-filled events and in turn raise money to deliver further experiences for our pupils.
The PTA would like to extend a thank you to Leigh Broome, Chris Thompson and Mr Davies for their generosity and donations of selection boxes for the event. We would also like to thank the "Round table dads" of the school who purchased and donated our new Christmas tree. We are extremely grateful to have such supportive families and friends to our school.

Driving on site
Please can we ask that only current parking permit holders drive onsite each day. There is ample parking across the road at the leisure centre for you to park in. Please support us in keeping our site safe for our children.

Please can we ask parents to treat staff with respect and courtesy at all times. Please adhere to the school's Code of Conduct for Parents to help maintain a safe and respectful environment for all staff, pupils, and families.

Please can pupils in Skomer and Ramsey arrive to the church hall (at the back of St Francis of Assisi Church) by 5:30pm.

We ask that you inform the school immediately if your child is diagnosed with a contagious illness such as chickenpox, measles, mumps, scarlet fever, or any other condition that could pose a risk to vulnerable individuals. To ensure the wellbeing of all our pupils, including those who are immunocompromised, we ask everyone to adhere to the above notification procedure.
Christmas Lantern Parade Information
The Town Council has shared the following updated information ahead of the Lantern Parade. on Saturday 6th December.
approx 3:00pm - Milford Haven Round Table will be opening a marquee outside the former police station in Charles Street where lights etc for the Parade can be collected
approx 4:10pm - the Parade will be forming outside the former police station in Charles Street
approx 4:30pm - the Lantern Parade will commence
not before 5:00pm - the Parade will arrive at the Town Hall in time for Santa/the switch-on of the Christmas light
The children are welcome to join the parade at the above time and their adult must remain with them for the duration.

Year 3 & 4 Learn to ride & cycle with confidence session
On December 4th Year 3 and 4 - all pupils who completed the form will need to bring their bike & helmet to school on Thursday. Please ensure they have warm/waterproof clothing.

Dosbarth Dolffin will be performing on Monday 15th December at 2pm and Tuesday 16th December at 6pm.
Carols by Candle Light
On Wednesday 10th December Dosbarth Skomer & Dosbarth Ramsey will be performing Christmas Carols by Candlelight at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 6pm. Maximum of 2 tickets per family initailly with any unsold being made available the week of 1.12.25. Please be aware that there is no allocated seating for this event.
Christmas Play Tickets
Tickets are available to buy from Mrs Evans from 2.50pm in the school office Monday 24th, Tuesday 25th & Wednesday 26th. £3 per ticket, maximum of 3 per family initially with any unsold tickets being made available week beginning 1.12.25.

Reminder for Dosbarth Ramsey - Ramsey are collecting clean recycling materials for their DT project.
Dosbarth Dolffin Litter Picking
On Tuesday 25th November Dosbarth Dolffin would like to invite their families and friends to join us on a litter pick in the surrounding area. The litter pick will begin at 1.15pm from school. This is following the class topic looking at how we can care for God's wonderful world.

We are pleased to be able to share the link to our Estyn report which was published this week. This report reflects very positively on the progress made and the strong sense of commitment across our school community. This is a testament to the the ongoing hard work, professionalism, and care for our pupils displayed by our staff. Emergency School Closures

Dosbarth Ramsey & Skomer Trip to Freshwater West Beach
On Wednesday 19th Dosbarth Ramsey and Dosbarth Skomer will be going on their trip to Freshwater West Beach. Please can prents ensure they have wellies, a warm coat, a packed lunch and a refillable water bottle.
Home Communication
Due to ongoing technical issues with Juniper experienced by both staff & parents when we need to contact parents we, for the time being, are doing so by phone or email & using the newsletter to inform parents of school dates/activities etc & our social media pages with any updates during the week. We hope to find a resolution to this issue ASAP & will update you as soon as we have reached a decision.

Children in Need
On Friday 14th November we will be celebrating Children in Need. The children can come to school dressed in yellow or spots. Please can the children bring a £1 donation for the Children in Need appeal.
After school clubs
Monday 10th will be the last week for clubs for this term. New clubs will run in Spring 2026.
Playground Equipment
You may have noticed over the past couple of weeks we have been adding to our outdoor playground equipment. They children have really enjoyed playing with out new balance beams, boat, giant polydron, giant outdoor games and many more. A special word of thanks to our school community for donating and participating in our fundraising events last year which has funded our new equipment.
Dosbarth Dolffin Litter Picking
On Tuesday 25th November Dosbarth Dolffin would like to invite their families and friends to join us on a litter pick in the surrounding area. The litter pick will begin at 1.15pm from school. This is following the class topic looking at how we can care for God's wonderful world.

Parent Teacher Meetings
Parent teacher meetings will now go ahead on Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th November 2025. A booking link will be sent out after half term for you to book your time slot with your children's teacher. Harvest

Dosbarth Seren Y Mor - Creative Schools Showcase
On Thursday 6th November Seren y Mor (Reception & morning nursery pupils) are hosting their Creative Schools Showcase at 10a.m. All parents are welcome to attend.
Head Lice
There have been reported cases of headlice across the school. While this is a common occurrence in school settings, we kindly ask that you check your child’s hair regularly and treat any cases promptly to help prevent further spread. If headlice or nits are found, we recommend using an appropriate treatment and continuing to check the hair of all family members.

Spooky Autumn Disco
Our spooky Autumn disco is now being held at St Francis School hall. We can't wait to welcome the children for a spooktacular time! Doors opening at 4:45pm - 6pm. Entry cost is £3 which includes drink, sweets and games.
Pumpkin Carving Competition
Our annual Pumpkin Carving competition is taking place Tuesday 21st October. We can't wait to see this year ingenious creations!

St Francis Teacher Parent Meetings
Juniper App
We are aware that some families have been experiencing issues with the Juniper communication app. We understand how important it is for you to stay informed and connected with the school, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Please be assured that Juniper's technical team is actively working to resolve these issues as quickly as possible. We are in regular contact with them and will keep you updated on any progress.
In the meantime information is available on our school website via the newsletter & our social media pages & via the office using the contact details we hold on file for you.
Drop Off/Pick Up
We kindly remind all parents and carers that only vehicles displaying a valid 2025/26 car pass are permitted to enter the school car park during drop-off and pick-up times, including Friday pick-up at 1:00pm. Parking is available at the Meads Leisure Centre.
We also ask that all parents and carers treat staff at the gate with courtesy and respect at all times. Your cooperation helps us maintain a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

We have received reports that children are walking out into the road in the car park when going to breakfast club. World Mental Health Day 2025

Parking in front of school gates
Please can parents dropping off for breakfast club refrain from parking in front of our school gates. This is an emergency exit and should be kept clear at all times. We would greatly appreciate your support in keeping this area clear.
PE Shorts
If your child wishes to wear shorts for PE, please can they wear navy PE shorts to the knee. Unfortunately, bicycle shorts are not part of our school uniform. The children are also welcome to wear navy leggings and navy tracksuit bottoms.
Year 4 Sealyham Learning Centre One Night Residential February 12th 2026
Calling year 4 parents - We would like to give our year 4s the opportunity to attend a one night residential at the Sealyham learning Centre. The children would have the opportunity to go on a guided hike, take part in outdoor activities including high ropes and bush craft, go bat watching and have a campfire with hot chocolate. Accommodation, food and transport are included in the cost. Please complete the attached forms by 26.9.25

Christmas Lights Competition
Santa is looking for a couple of little helpers to switch on the town's Christmas lights with him on Saturday 6th December!
The Mayor of Milford Haven, Councillor William Elliott, is also looking for the most perfect image for his Mayoral Christmas card.
We ask for older children (from the ages of 7-11) to write a festive poem (in their own handwriting) and for younger children (aged 6 and below) to draw a festive picture/painting.
Entries to be submitted to school by Friday 7th November.

Sports club with Mrs Donoghue is now opening up to year three and four as well as year five and six.
