Safeguarding

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined in ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children’, DCSF 2010 as:

The purpose of our safeguarding policy is to provide a secure framework for the workforce in safeguarding and promoting those pupils who attend our school.

The policy aims to ensure that:

We adhere to the Wales Safeguarding Procedures that have been endorsed by Welsh Government and the Mid and West Wales Regional Safeguarding Children Board (CYSUR). We also acknowledge the ‘Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act (2014).

St Francis Catholic Primary School is committed to ensuring the safety and protection of all children and will take action to safeguard their well-being, and acknowledge that children have a right to protection.  Our school acknowledges the importance of its role in the welfare of children and young people and, through the general ethos of the school, will seek to encourage children in need of support to come forward.
