Design Technology

In this unit, pupils will design and make a toy that is suitable for a child. They will also develop their knowledge of timber based materials, including their properties and their uses. They will work practically with PAR to produce an Automata Nodding dog and develop the essential practical skills required for this course. Pupils will develop their understanding on key topics including CAD/CAM, environment, sustainability and industrial practices.

During this unit pupils will explore the environmental impact of using and creating products and will develop their understanding of sustainability on a local and global scale.
