Welsh

In this unit, the focus will be on ourselves and others. There will be an initial opportunity to recap the Welsh vocabulary they have learnt in Primary school. They will learn how to introduce themselves in Welsh, by using a range of tenses and vocabulary and they will also learn how to talk about others in the third person. Pupils will learn about famous Welsh people, including celebrities who have learnt Welsh. We will celebrate being Welsh and living in Wales, and make comparisons to other languages and cultures. The aim is to build their confidence across the four literacy skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking.
