International Languages

In this unit pupils will discover facts about France and francophone countries including traditions and stereotypes. They will explore some basic language used to introduce oneself, and they will be introduced to language used to form opinions, and to describe colours and shape. They will use then use this knowledge to describe the paintings of a famous French artist. Pupils will be encouraged to make connections between language, culture and identity and make comparisons with English and Welsh. They will learn how to use a bilingual dictionary correctly in order to use language creatively. They will also have the opportunity to study other International Languages including Italian and Spanish.
