Mathematics & Numeracy

The Mathematics and Numeracy area of learning and experience is the home of the international discipline of Mathematics, which surrounds us and underpins so many aspects of our daily lives, such as architecture, art, music, money and engineering. The development of mathematics has always gone hand in hand with the development of civilisation itself. Mathematics is creative and beautiful, both in its own right and in its applications, it is also essential for progress in other areas of learning and experience.

Is it time to get to know you?

At Rhyl High School, the Mathematics and Numeracy Area of Learning will explore and develop knowledge and skills of mathematical concepts by applying and connecting the five mathematical proficiencies to a range of real-life contexts through investigating key questions in Maths lessons. All other Areas of Learning will develop, enhance, stimulate and support learning from the Mathematics and Numeracy Area by using and applying the cross-curricular Numeracy knowledge and skills in their key questions also.
