Semester Course Load

Understanding the academic and credit system at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.

    • HUFS full-time Students can apply for up to 20 credits per semester. We recommend students study approximately 15 to 17 credits per semester.

    • Approximately three weeks prior to each semester, online course registration is conducted through our online course registration system. This is on a first come first serve basis. This means that the students might not always get all the courses they want. Finalized schedule for each semester is complete only after the orientation week. During the orientation week, which is the first week of the semester, students can also apply for classes that are available at the period or drop classes they wish not to take.

    • Here at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, the students decide themselves in what order they wish to study their courses. In order to graduate after 4 years, full-time undergraduate students need to complete 134 credits. How they reach those 134 credits is their own responsibility as long as they go by the University’s requirements. However, if divided between all 8 semesters, it is approximately 16-17 credits per semester in order to graduate on time.
