Alien Registration Card Application / Visa Application & Extension

HUFS is planning on providing visa agency service for new and currently enrolled students so they will not have to visit the immigration office in person for various duties such as Alien Registration application, Visa application and extension.

* Currently, the immigration office restricts personal visit reservations due to Corona-19. Please apply for your Visa through our Visa Agency.

Visa Agency “Public Administration Agent (SEHYUN)”

Public administration Agent (SEHYUN) is an agency consisted of nationally licensed public administration agents. They have been working with HUFS to help the international students with the application of their Alien Registration and visa, and the extension of their visa.

1. Alien Registration Card application(Enter Korea with D2 → Alien Registration Card application)

<Visa Information for 2022-1 incoming students>

-A student who is living abroad must apply for D-2(International Student) visa and Alien Registration Card after entering Korea.

-A student who is living in Korea and holding a D-4 visa other than D-2 must apply for D-2(International Student) visa before the semester begins.

Below are the information on how to apply for the visa and a list of required documents.

●Applying for D-2 visa outside of Korea

The student is required to submit the following to Korean Embassy in your country:

1) Certificate of Admission (offered to the student by the school)

2) Financial statement (Only if asked by the Embassy)

- ‘Certificate of bank balances ($20,000)’ of the account held by the student or his/her parents, issued by a domestic or foreign bank

*Unnecessary to submit if not asked by the Embassy

3) Graduation Certificate

- Must be confirmed by the Consul or Apostilled

4) Other documents required by the Embassy

- Application form, Copy of the passport, Certificate of Business Registration, Tuberculosis Test Results (only citizens from high incidence of Tuberculosis countries), Family relation certificate, Language proficiency score (Only if asked by the Embassy)

Required documents for applying for Alien Registration Card after arrival in Korea

1) Applying for Alien Registration Card

- Application form, 1 Passport photo (3.5X4.5), 2 copies of the passport (+visa), Tuition payment receipt, Confirmation of residence, Fee (total 30,000 KRW)

▲Changing to D-2-2 visa in Korea (? → D-2-2 )

The student is required to submit the following to the Immigration Office:

*Sejong-ro Immigration Office (Seoul Campus) or Suwon Immigration Office (Global Campus)

1) Certificate of Admission

2) Financial statement (Only if asked by the Embassy)

- ‘Certificate of bank balances ($20,000)’ of the account held by the student, issued by a domestic bank, or ‘Certificate of wire transfer ($20,000)’

*Balance of $10,000 needed if the student completed the Korean Language program at HUFS

3) Graduation Certificate (The school is able to give it back to the student for the purpose of applying for a visa if already submitted)

- If the student graduated from a Chinese high school or college, then the Verification Report of China High school Academic Proficiency Test Results is needed

- All students who graduated from a school in countries other than China and Korea, the graduation certificate must be confirmed by the Consul or Apostilled

4) Other documents required by the Immigration Office

- Application form, Copy of the passport, Tuberculosis Test Results (only citizens from high incidence of Tuberculosis countries), Family Relation Certificate, Alien Registration Card (if applicable), Tuition payment receipt, Confirmation of residence, Transcript and Certificate of Attendance issued by the Language school (only applicable to D-4 visa holders), Fee (total 130,000 KRW)

※ HUFS has the agreement with Sehyun Visa Agency, who helps our new and current students with visa processes, including applying for ARC, Changing visa status, Visa extension, etc.
