Woods Technology IV
Woods Technology IV is the capstone course of the Woods Tech sequence, focused on refining and mastering woodworking skills through individualized, high-quality project work. Students are expected to work independently, manage their own time, and demonstrate craftsmanship across all phases of their projects.
The course emphasizes precision, design, and creative problem-solving. Students may choose from a variety of challenging projects—such as furniture builds, custom cabinetry, or 3D-printed design integrations—that reflect their interests and skill level. Please note: Projects are subject to change based on available resources and student goals.
Students will:
Master tool safety, maintenance, and machine certification
Create detailed plans and working drawings for custom designs
Apply advanced joinery and finishing methods
Integrate modern design tools such as Tinkercad and 3D printing
Demonstrate independence, leadership, and attention to detail
This course is designed for serious woodworking students preparing for careers in the trades, advanced training, or those passionate about building high-quality custom work.
