Woods Technology III
Woods Technology III
Woods Technology III is an advanced-level woodworking course where students build on prior knowledge and continue developing their craftsmanship and technical skills. Students deepen their understanding of tool operation, safety, and project planning while working with a variety of materials and machines, including the table saw, jointer, planer, router, and more.
This course places strong emphasis on project-based learning, requiring students to think critically, solve problems, and complete complex woodworking tasks with accuracy. Projects such as custom boxes, picture frames, or CO₂ cars are designed to challenge students to apply everything they’ve learned in previous levels. Please note: Projects are subject to change based on materials, class size, and available time.
Students will:
Continue safe operation of stationary and handheld woodworking equipment
Apply advanced measuring, layout, and joint techniques
Improve finishing skills and project presentation
Demonstrate accountability and independence in the shop
Complete multi-step projects from design to final finish
This course is ideal for students looking to move beyond beginner-level work and gain confidence in more advanced woodworking techniques.
