Research shows that high school students who participate in concurrent/dual enrollment programs are more likely to achieve higher grades in high school, graduate on time, attend post-secondary institutions, and ultimately earn a college degree. These programs also offer a significant financial benefit, as students can earn college credits at a much lower cost to their families. Additionally, earning college credits in high school may enable students to graduate from college sooner than they would otherwise.
At HHS, concurrent/dual enrollment courses are seamlessly integrated into the high school experience. These courses are taught by our highly qualified high school teachers, approved by partnering colleges, and are part of the regular high school schedule. Students can take advantage of this opportunity without disrupting their typical school day, making concurrent/dual enrollment an accessible and impactful way to get ahead.
At this time, students will make their course selections with their school counselor.
Later in the Spring, students will be asked to complete an application to RVCC and pay the per course fee for the 2025/26 school year.
For students wishing to enroll in Concurrent Enrollment English IV, must meet the HHS English department requirements as published in the POS under English IV Concurrent.
Students wishing to enroll in concurrent enrollment for AP Calculus AB must arrange placement testing through RVCC's testing center, take the test on their own time, and report the score back to their school counselor before the deadline.
