Abstract:
Previous research in the fields of both chromatics and psychology suggests that there is a correlation between a presented stimulus color and the mood of the given subject. However, there has not been any research done on the effects of wall color and mood on Hampton High School students. This paper explores the unknown connection between the two variables by using experimental research. There were 10 students that voluntarily signed up and participated, and they answered a mood questionnaire for different wall colors in order to make comparisons. After data collection, it was clear to see there were not any connections between wall color and the mood of a student while completing a given task. In the future, the idea of colors and their influence on the mood of a subject should be researched more in order to find a possible cause of mood swings or unpredictable emotions.
