The purpose of this course is to help train young people about safety in the workplace. Young workers are more likely to get hurt on the worksite so it is important to address workers' rights and responsibilities.
Implementation Idea: Please note this available all year and could be completed by students on their own. The course takes about 3 hours to complete. They can log out and go back to it at anytime.
Check out the UofM's "Career Compass" for information about how different areas of study correlate to different careers. There is also a section called "Occupation Exploration" that may also be of use. Each tool is available all year.
Implementation Idea: Using the University of Manitoba's Career Services website, discuss what career options might fit with the course you are teaching.
This idea was provided by MB Education. The point is to gain exposure to a variety of people, occupations, and sectors in Manitoba. At a Human Library, the people are the “books.” Students have the chance to check out “books” that interest them and ask questions to learn more.

This could include bringing in a professional virtually to discuss how they use certain concepts in their job or a brief discussion around what jobs use the outcomes you will learn about. Kirby Krause would be happy to help.
