The third time was the charm in Bennington, as voters passed a bond issue to build a second high school in the district after two previous ballot measures had failed. The district expects to open the school in the fall of 2028. The school name, nickname, and colors are still to be decided. Judging off similar new school openings in Elkhorn and Gretna, I would guess the new school will field a varsity football team that first fall in 2028, but that's just speculation at this point.
Clarkson and Leigh will be ending their co-op after more than a decade as Patriots together, including a football state title in 2022. In 2026, the Clarkson Red Devils and Leigh Panthers will return. Here are previous designs from their previous time independent, Clarkson left and Leigh right.
Heartland Lutheran in Grand Island will undergo a name change for the 25-26 school year as part of a reorganization of K-12 Lutheran schools in the area. They will now be Grand Island Lutheran High School, and will change nickname from the Red Hornets to the Lightning. They will wear navy and gold, and use the LH logo, but will not field a varsity team in 2025. (The new helmet design here is just a placeholder)
There will be a new school in Fremont this fall, as Lutheran High School - Fremont (which I think will likely end up referred to commonly as Fremont Lutheran, although Lutheran High Northeast in Norfolk has managed to stick, so who knows) will open in September. They'll be the Lions and have gone with a crimson/maroon primary color. I've not seen anything about sports for the new school yet, and it might be a few years before they grow to a size to consider fielding their own football team, but I thought it'd be good to make a quick helmet placeholder anyway.
Heartland and Hampton will begin a co-op in all other sports starting in the fall of 2025, with football joining in '26 at the start of the next two-year scheduling cycle. The co-op will be the Bearcats, selected by student vote, and will wear black and silver.
Plainview and Osmond will begin a football co-op in 2026, keeping Plainview's Pirate nickname and red and white colors. The Osmond Tigers had spent the last two-year cycle in a co-op with Wausa.
Omaha Christian Academy will be just grades K-8 starting this academic year, 25-26, and the new Omaha Christian High School will take its place as a 9-12 school, inheriting the Eagles' football schedule, to my understanding. The new school will be the Guardians, and it looks their inaugural helmets will look like this.
After close to a decade of a co-op with Logan View, Scribner-Snyder will be going back alone for football, with the return of the Trojans in red and white (the co-op had used Logan View colors and the Raider nickname). Here's what the Trojans last wore in 2015.
