Art is all about the process not the product. Young children should be given the opportunity to create art daily using a variety of materials.
Having paper, crayons, pencils and markers available at all times is an excellent way to encourage writing, drawing, and language.
Display your child's artwork.
Instead of saying, "Good job!" or "That is beautiful." try picking one thing out and speaking on it. As an example, "Gianna, I really like the use of the color red." or "That is a really straight line. Can you show me how to make one?"
