This course focuses on the evolving and pervasive technological environment with an emphasis on securing personal, organizational, and national information. Students will be introduced to the principles of cybersecurity, explore emerging technologies, examine threats and protective measures, and investigate the diverse high-skill, high-wage, and high-demand career opportunities in the field of cybersecurity.
This week is the final week of school! Students will have a chance to complete any late/missing work and to complete up through Lesson 16 on Code.org.

This week, we will learn about class expectations, sign up for a few websites, and begin talking about the internet and the Internet of Things.

This week, we will learn about how the internet works and be sharing that with others.

This week, we will learn about how to program using Code.org, a website that will walk students through programming lessons. These lessons will give the students an opportunity to learn important vocabulary to aid in further lessons.

This week, we will be learning about data and how it works. We will be using our micro:bits this week to collect data.

This week, we will be learning about text compression, completing a few pixel activities and learning the basic parts of a computer.

This week, Monday is a holiday! The rest of the week, we will continue to learn the parts of a computer with an assessment at the end of the week.

This week, I am learning about digital citizenship and how to protect myself online. I will create a digital footprint and discover how to know if the news is credible online.
