ONBOARDING

We believe that Hope Valley Church should be a safe place for all, especially the youngest and most vulnerable in our community. We are committed to creating an environment where the safety and welfare of children is paramount. 

All volunteers who serve under the umbrella of Hope Valley Church (whether they volunteer with children or not) undergo a Working with Children Check (WWCC). 

If you already have a current WWCC:

• Complete Step One of the Safe Church Screening Process so that there is a record of people who are volunteering through Hope Valley Church. 

• Forward your WWCC Reference number (SRN-####-####) and the date of your check to the Church Office. These details can be found on your approval email from the DHS Screening Unit.

• If you are unable to locate your original email from DHS, please go to this website and under 'Working with Children Check Registration Number' complete the steps and they will send you the information.

If you do not yet have a WWCC:

• Complete Step One, Two and Three of the application below.

• Forward your WWCC Reference number (SRN-####-####) and the date of your check to the Church Office. These details will be found on your approval email from the DHS Screening Unit.

In addition to undergoing a WWCC, all volunteers are required to understand and execute where necessary, certain legal responsibilities towards children and young people.  

Hope Valley Church has a Child Safe Environment Policy and a Factsheet which outlines specific obligations for volunteers. Please watch the training video and then complete the form below.
