Your pathway begins here.
Your pathway begins here.
"You make known to me the path of life..." Psalms 16:11
We believe God has given us a mission: to make disciples who make disciples.
A disciple is someone who commits to following Jesus and lives in a relationship with Him as their Saviour and Leader, allowing Him to shape them and lead them in His ways. Making disciples who in turn help make more disciples is the primary reason the church exists. It was Jesus’ last command and is our first priority.
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age". Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)
Our four HOPE Values are shaped by and based upon Jesus’ heart, God’s Word and the mission given to the Church, made possible by the empowering of the Holy Spirit:
Heart for God’s Mission
Open to God’s Word
Practical Service
Excellent Relationships
The HOPE values summarise the heart we are to develop and the behaviours we are to live out as we follow Jesus. Each of the four values is something to grow in and practice because they each have a purpose beyond themselves:
H: We help others come into a saving relationship with Jesus and grow as self-replicating disciples.
O: We affirm that God’s Word is alive and active, shaping, mentoring, teaching, guiding, rebuking, and empowering us to live the life God created us for.
P: We serve others in practical ways that genuinely benefit them and reflect God’s love.
E: We find and foster inclusion within New Testament community, experiencing a foretaste of heaven!
At Hope Valley Church, we hold to the historic, orthodox Christian faith, rooted in the apostolic tradition and expressed in the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds. We invite you to read our full doctrinal Belief Statement on our website here.
At Hope Valley Church, our ministry is shaped by what we call Rhythms of Grace—a way of life rooted in Jesus’ invitation to walk in His “unforced rhythms of grace” (Matthew 11:28–30, MSG). Rather than striving or busyness, we seek to live in step with God through simple, intentional rhythms that draw us closer to Him and to one another.
These rhythms form the heartbeat of our life together:
Daily time with God
Weekly worship (Sunday gathering)
Fortnightly life groups
Six-weekly practical service
As we follow the example of Jesus, these practices help us grow in grace, build authentic community, and live lives that flourish in God’s presence and purpose.
We believe God has given YOU a specific purpose within His mission. This Pathways site has been created to help you discover that purpose!
