The Church Council consists of elected men and women who are members of Hope Valley Church who are equipped with the gifts and graces to give oversight to the congregation and mission of Hope Valley Church.
Hope Valley Church elects Church Councillors from among its baptised membership and may co-opt as needed.
Elections are generally held once per year and nominees may indicate how long they wish to serve on Church Council (1-5 years). Nominations are brought forward by two other members of the church and each nominee will meet with either the pastors or a delegated person of the Church Council prior to elections.
The role of Church Councillor is to be prayerfully considered in light of the mission of the church, availability, gifts, graces and personal life in Christ. It is not to be entered lightly or with a personal or exclusive agenda.
“Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.” Acts 20:28
