Membership
God did not create us to be an orphan but to belong to a family (Galatians 4:4-7). It is in the context of a loving family that we are nourished and grow. Membership is a commitment to love, grow, and serve as part of the local church family.
At Hope Valley Church we take Membership seriously. While it does get your name on a roll and allows you to vote it is much more than that.
We grow when we are committed and accountable.
"As iron sharpens iron so one person sharpens another." Proverbs 27:17
We are more fruitful.
"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labour." Ecclesiastes 4:9
We are supported.
"Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." Ecclesiastes 4:12
"Let us be concerned for one another, to help one another to show love and to do good. Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage one another all the more." Hebrews 10:24-25
To become a member you need to have committed your life to Christ, been baptised, and make public vows of Membership on a Sunday that declare your commitment to Christ, to our Mission, Beliefs, Values, and to serve and grow with other members.
