Jerry J.(GERM) Fletcher...my Daddy...XOXODad was born in Lubbock, Texas. The youngest and smallest of three boys.Both older brothers played football...Dad didn't get accepted. "That's ok,he yelled. I'm gonna be a bull rider!" He turned 15 and took the registration form to his Mom. Absolutely not. He went to his Dad...he signed the form out of spite for his ex-wife. He was scared...he got on that bull...the announcer yelled over the loudspeaker..." that looks like a GERM on that bull"...Yep...how he got his nickname. Wanted to name me Germetta Joe...luckily my Mom refused!1968...the cutoff age for Navy SEALS was 28...my Dad was 31...they really didn't want him to make it...BUT...he did!!! He was in Vietnam for 3tours...trained SEALs on Coronado Island...and went to the language schoolin Monterrey to learn fluent Chinese. Dad played and coached Rugby and lived on the island of Tonga. Dad wrote "Devils with Green Faces" and was in charge of the SEALs in "AIRPORT 77". YEP...this is a very proud daughter of a remarkable man!!! (Story from his Daughter Kristi Lynn Broadway)
