My Mission:

To provide reliable advice and decorating services in a stress-free environment to residential homeowners and realtors trying to create a more cohesive, functional and aesthetically pleasing property for either selling or staying. 

Everyone NEEDS a safe space that is their own, where they can unwind, relax and rejuvenate. Whether your selling or staying, it can be very overwhelming process trying to coordinate all the elements and principles of design into one cohesive concept without wasting money on making design mistakes. You deserve a safe space to call your own that you can always go to no matter how hard life is. I want to help you achieve this safe haven, provide a space your proud and happy to walk into and know that you did your best to respect your budget and our environment. The Universal design concept focuses on creating spaces and furnishings to meet the needs of individuals regardless of age or ability. I will use my desire to enrich the quality of life through design and décor to help better your current space while reusing and refurbishing as many current pieces in respect to our earth's resources and your budget. 

My Overall Goal:

To receive the double "WOW!" ;First when you enter your new space and can't believe its yours. The second is when you realize how little you spent, how much you saved and increased the value on one of your biggest investments. Everything is crazy expensive and there's too many people taking advantage of others during these tough times. 

I vow  to not over spend your money, only provide suggestions that make sense for you, your home and budget, while ensuring I have found the best prices possible without sacrificing quality.

Updated Certifications in 2023:

I wanted to aid in my business by refreshing my knowledge from receiving my Interior Decorating Diploma at Fanshawe College in 2013. This lead me to taking and receiving my Official Home Staging, Interior Redesign, Professional Organizing and Personal Shopper Certificates from the International Association of Professions Career College with honors. 

My Background:

After graduating Fanshawe College for Interior Decorating in 2013, I began working at Benjamin Moore and Para Paints as a colour consultation specialist. For 6 years I would go to clients homes to advise in colour selections for the entire home, inside and out. I'd measure their space to spec quantities of products while educating on the types and qualities of products and tools they'll need to complete each job. I love being able to bring new life into a room or piece of furniture simply by painting or staining them. My years at the paint stores have taught me how to properly refurbish furniture and décor and I would love to share my knowledge and expertise with you and your own DIY projects.

Clients appreciated my colour advice and positive attitude so much that they asked me for help with their selection of all furnishings and fixtures for the rest of their house. I then began helping clients space plan and select their cabinetry, flooring, tiling, countertops, furniture, accessories, bedding, lighting, etc. due to the high demand. 

I then worked 4 years at Tepperman's furniture store as the Showroom Coordinator/Visual Merchandise Manager. Here I perfected my selecting, decorating and space planning skills. I would assist customers in the store on selection of furniture and décor while designing and decorating cohesive vignettes to display different styles, trends and furniture grouping suggestions. The common customer feedback for my decorating in the store was "whoever decorates this store must come and decorate my home!"  What a great idea I thought; so I then started making house calls to help decorate their spaces and I became their home personal shopper.

Why I Started HomeStace:

Home Personal Shopping started becoming popular with property owners and renters, but also with people selling their homes. This lead to the next issue I discovered; people having their home staged to sell, but they fall in love with the décor and furniture and wish they could take it all to their next home. Now you can! 

This sparked up HomeStace, my own decorating and home staging business where I offer home personal shopping. I can help you purchase your own décor and furniture, then I will come decorate and stage your property for you. Once your home has sold, I can take a day to decorate your new home with your already purchased furniture and décor. 

The next issue I noticed was a lot of houses advertised online had photos that showcased the negative features, when if only a few simple changes were made they could've highlighted the positives and really increase the value of their property.  I then decided Photo shoot detailing was a service I wanted to offer. A very wise realtor once told me "it's not necessarily open houses that sell homes, it's the photos". I want the homeowner to feel prepared and ready to rest easy the night before the photo shoot or open house knowing their home has been adjusted, perfected and decorated for the big day. I will provide check lists of what needs to be done before I come decorate and before the photographer arrives. If some new items need to be rented from myself to really help evolve your spaces, we can discuss your budget along with my suggestions.
