Like Jesus, I would take care and love my elders. An example would be my grandparents, which I would always do my best to listen to them and help them whenever I could. When they lived with me back then, I would hold on to them and help them walk. If they were carrying something, I would offer to carry it instead. I would also try slowing down my pace so that they don't have to rush. Since they have moved to the Philippines now, I make sure to call them often and ask how they are doing. Putting in effort to show love to others is exactly what Jesus did on His time on Earth.
I would save up any money I had and give some for Mass. Each Sunday, I would make sure to separate some dollars to bring to Church. I usually gave it when the collections started. Along with that, if I had some clothes I never used or some spare food, I would also donate them. In the picture, I had too many snacks that would be difficult to finish before expiration. My family and I decided to give some to the homeless person near our apartment. They must've been hungry while staying outside, so they were very grateful. I felt a good when we did that. I think Jesus would've done the same thing of donating instead of wasting.
Giving advice is challenging, but it is rewarding when the advice you give helps. For me, I have probably been giving advice to others ever since Kindergarten. Recently, I have been helping some people who have been having a hard time with their problems. Some conversations are serious, others are trivial. I just make sure to listen to what they have to say and give my honest input. Sometimes I don't have advice either, but I try to be someone they can just talk to. Doing this allows me to help others as Jesus did. Jesus was able to grant miracles and recite many valuable teachings. Those are great help, and I'd also like to be able help out in my own simple way. Giving advice is no problem, and it makes me happy when I know things work out.
Along with giving advice, listening to what others are saying is just as important. Jesus listened to the problems and worries of those around Him. He was considerate and He had compassion. It didn't matter if you were rich or poor, He openly listened and relieved you. As much as I can, I make sure to do the same thing and be a source of comfort to others. I'm not perfect and I can't always speak like I know what they might be going through, but I can listen and understand them. That's all someone may need sometimes, just someone to talk to.
I make sure to pray for others whenever I have the chance. It's the best I could do to help them out if they're facing a problem or struggle. To those in need of prayers, I add them to my prayers at night. For example, I pray for those who are sick and for the souls in purgatory. A prayer can help a lot more than you know. Along with that, they're free to give. You can give an endless amount of prayers without having to give something in return. All you offer is your time. Whenever I have time, I pray for someone or something that comes to mind. I also try to immediately pray for the poor people or those who are injured whenever I see them.
