This is way easier said than done, but it's definitely worth the shot. I usually do this by putting away any devices not needed for work. I also try going in a quiet environment where I can stay focused. If you're hungry, make sure to eat. If you're sleepy, go take a nap. You'll be in a better mood to get things done when you do these first. After you are in a better mood, be a responsible citizen and get started on whatever needs to be done. Once I'm all prepared, I get straight to work. It's tempting to take a numerous amount of breaks, but I know how harder it'll be for me if I get distracted.
By this, I mean taking the time to carefully read and understand what you're studying. Along with that, maybe even enter contests. You can always go the extra mile and express your opinions through your writing or art. For school, I usually study a day before and an hour before my tests. This way, all the information is still fresh on my mind. I also make sure to rest and eat properly so that I'm in a good condition. With contests, I have worked hard and won on art pieces that showcase alcohol awareness and cleaning germs. If I want others to learn about certain topics, I must be a responsible citizen and showcase what I know through my actions and words.
I had difficulty with this for awhile, but I've gotten better with sleeping earlier than I have before. As students, it is our responsibility to gather enough sleep to do well in school. We need that energy to be able to do good on our discussions and our assignments. Over time, I have gradually begun not sleeping so late. I used to be up past midnight, and I didn't feel so well at school the next day. Along with school nights, not sleeping so late is also beneficial for everyday life. If you have a game or important event, it is better to get that full night's rest. When I receive a good amount of sleep, I feel ready to accomplish anything. That is why I myself strive to not sleep so late as a responsible citizen and student.
It's great help to have a plan before doing anything. Of course, going with the flow is also one way to do things, but important events in your life can go more smoothly with a plan. I try to make a plan if I have a speech to make, a confrontation, or something I feel I need preparation for. I know I wouldn't do as well as I can without a plan. The nervousness is a big factor, so having a plan would be a good way to carry out what I want to do and just be a responsible person for having one.
I feel like a lot of people forget to ask for help whenever they truly need it. This could ultimately lead to failure or confusion due to the lack of clarification. Before, I tried to avoid asking help from others as much as possible, but I realized that it made things more difficult for me. So recently I've decided to be a responsible citizen and do what needs to be done: ask for help. It's important in life to rely on others. You can't just do everything on your own. As a citizen, we should all work together to be more successful. I'm able to understand things I was confused on before ever since I asked for help from others. At the end of the day though, it's only our obligation to ask help. No one will do it for us so even if we're shy or embarrassed, so we need to get out of our comfort zones if we can't do it ourselves.
