Lesson1.1.mp4

Lesson 1

Welcome back! In lesson 1, I introduce myself, Miss Mitchell, the school counselor, and talk about what my job is. In the second part of lesson 1 I go through the activity, would you rather?. You might remember this from last year! If so, that's okay! The assignment is linked below.

Lesson2(2-5).mp4

Lesson 2

Lesson 2 is focused on a back to school check in. There are six boxes, just write a couple sentences! The assignment is linked below.

Lesson3(2-5).mp4

Lesson 3

In the 3rd lesson, I want to get to know you better. I want you to talk about something that you wish I knew. It might be that you wish I knew that you hate playing basketball but your parents expect to you play because your older brother or sister played basketball.

(SH 1.1) Lesson 4 -3.mp4

Lesson 4

What is important to you? In this activity, we will be discussing an important item about us, why it is important, and why it is important to get to know our classmates.

*3-5 - Lesson 5.mp4

Lesson 5

Do you like chocolate ice cream? Do you have a dog? With this activity, we will be working to find things in common with each other. What did you learn about me? How much do we have in common? Were you surprised that we have certain things in common? Was it easy or difficult to remember what we don't have in common?

*3-5 Lesson 6 .mp4

Lesson 6

For this lesson, we will be talking about differences. Why are differences important? We will be working to teach someone else something (the person will be me).

*3-5 Lesson 7 .mp4

Lesson 7

What groups do you belong to? What does it mean to belong to that group? Groups have the same goals, help each other, look out for each other, include each other, and have the same interests. How is your class a group?

*5 - Lesson 8 .mp4

Lesson 8

In this lesson, we talk about paying attention to how we think about ourselves and one another, and why that's important. Our thoughts are like thought bubbles that only we can see. Look at the two scenarios below and answer the questions.

*5 - Lesson 9.mp4

Lesson 9

Why is it important to understand other people's feelings and point of view? Two skills involved in empathy are identifying how someone feels and understanding someone's point of view or what they think. If we have empathy for someone, we respond to that person in an understanding way.
