Basic Nursing Assistant Program

Location:  Hillsboro High School (Meets at Hillsboro Area Hospital)

Time: M-F, 7:15 - 9:15am or M-F, 9:45 - 11:45am

Length: Semester

Dual Credit: LLCC NAS 101

Course Description:This CNA program is approved by the Department of Public Health. This course is specifically designed to train students to be Certified Nurse Assistants.  However, this course would benefit all future medical career pursuits.  Upon successful completion of the course, the student receives a certificate making him/her eligible to be employed in home health agencies, nursing homes, and hospitals.  In order to complete the program, students must pass a competency exam required by state and federal guidelines.  The student will be given 6.5 credit hours of Lincoln Land credit for successful completion of this course.  This is the prerequisite course for LLCC LPN and RN programs.

EMT Certification

Certification: EMT Certification (dual credit can be received by presenting certification to local community college)

Course Description: This course is designed to prepare students for the Emergency Medical Training certification. Students can sit for the EMT exam after their 18th birthday.
