For the second semester, we had new classes. One of them happened to be chemistry. This was one of the first projects we worked on in this class. During our time learning about ionic and covalent bonds, we created a miniature presentation of any kind that would be entertaining to the viewer while still explaining in layman terms what the differences were between the 2 types of bonds. I ended up writing a story about an atom named Sparky who tells his life story, and I threw in some dumb/dad jokes in there because I felt like it.
The project we mainly worked on was the chemical reaction demo. We were assigned a partner as well as a chemical reaction to conduct, and we had to create a slide deck based off of it. The slide deck consists of the necessary chemicals and materials used, the steps to create the reaction, the chemical formulas, stoichiometry, and information about the reaction.
Our first chemistry project was this one. We started off learning about atoms and how they have electrons, protons, and neutrons. We learned about other things too like valence electrons and the nucleus of an atom. What we ended up creating was a reflection of who we are as a person through typing in each "subatomic particle" of the atom what our positive traits, hobbies, areas of growth, and personal info about us.
