Role of a SASA
Module 5: Monthly Calendar of School/Office Duties
In this module, participants will gain a deeper understanding of monthly school/office calendar. It is a monthly “To Do List” to assist the SASA in ensuring all duties are completed and submitted on a timely basis. Items on the calendar may be delegated, or may be the responsibility of other staff members (such as Administrators, Registrar, Account Clerk, Office Assistant, and Meal Ticket Clerk).
The calendar has a few pages for each month, starting with the beginning of the fiscal year in July and ending in June. The items are organized into columns for:
Fiscal/Budget
FMS/FRS
SIS/Student Affairs
Payroll/Personnel
Other Data
There may be some items that do not apply to all schools. For example, tasks that are for high schools only are labeled. This is considered to be a “living document” because changes in policies, procedures, or systems from time to time may change the tasks or the due dates.
The objectives of this learning module include:
Review the tasks that need to be completed each month.
Create a folder to use for reference each month.
Know how to find which month, or months, key tasks are to be completed.
