Much of the first term of Year 11 is given over to finishing the Medicine topic. After that, the final topic of the students' GCSE studies is Elizabethan England, 1568-1603. We take a look at her character and Court life, Parliament, the 'Golden Age', poverty, religion, her issues with Mary Queen of Scots, and the Spanish Armada. There is also an 'environmental' study that changes every year, but has previously included Hardwick Hall, the Globe theatre and the Spanish Armada.
