Message from AD Mullvain:
Greetings Mustang Nation! Our student-athletes and coaches are hard at work to make sure that 2025-2026 is our best school year yet. We are excited to use this platform to share our journey with all of you.
Ola is off to a strong start in all of our fall sports - which is really exciting. Football, volleyball, and softball all have winning records so far. Girls cross country looks like they are contenders for a county championship this fall.
Coach Dustin Adkins (Football) begins his second season here at Ola. In year one, he led the Mustangs to the best football season in school history.
We are very excited about the new coaching talent at Ola this year. Softball is one of the flagship sports here at Ola, and we are thrilled that Coach Ansley Dill has taken the reigns. We have a young softball team, but Coach Dill has them off to a very strong start with wins over Union Grove and Colquitt County early in the young season. We also have a brand new cross country head coach - Ethan Ahonen. Coach Ahonen is an Ola alum, who ran cross country while he was a student at OHS. We love the passion and knowledge he brings to the program, and we are very excited about the future of Ola cross country under his leadership.
Homecoming is Sept. 26th vs. Union Grove.
Football Senior Night is Oct. 24th vs. Hampton.
ATHLETES TO WATCH
Kyleigh Gutierrez is a freshman on the cross country team. In her first ever race (the Into the Trail Invitational at LGHS), Kyleigh set the Ola school record with a time of 20:58.99. Caden Waye is one of the top running backs in the nation in the 2027 class. In his first game of the season vs. Trinity Christian, Caden had over 200 yards and 4 touchdowns.
ACADEMIC AND LEADERSHIP SPOTLIGHT
Phoebe Ogundeyin's leadership is critical to the success of our athletic department. Phoebe is an Athletic Department Intern, she co-hosts our Mustang Athletics Podcast, she is a student manager (currently for volleyball), and she is a member of our golf team. Phoebe successfully navigates all of this while maintaining a strong GPA and being an outstanding leader of our student section.
