VSU Auditions

The VSU concert choir, conducted by Dr. Craig Robertson, will perform at McDonough High School for the HCS choruses.   At the time of this visit, Dr. Robertson will also be holding auditions for students who are interested in majoring in music and singing in the choir at VSU.  If you are interested, please contact your high school chorus teacher for more details or Ms. Brandi Neal, MHS Chorus Teacher and Fine Arts Department Chair, at brandi.neal@henry.k12.ga.us.

Dr. Craig L. Robertson is the Director of Choral Activities and coordinator of vocal studies at Virginia State University where he conducts the VSU Concert Choir, teaches conducting and applied voice as well as facilitates the music education courses. Previously, he served as the Director of Choral Activities and Assistant Professor of Music at Mary Baldwin University (Staunton, VA). 

While a public-school choral director his ensembles consistently received ‘Superior’ ratings at choral festivals, won awards at national and regional music festivals/competitions and has performed at the 2011 Georgia Music Educator Association’s Conference. Throughout his career, Dr. Robertson has been an honor choir conductor, a solo/choral adjudicator and a guest lecturer. He also provides vocal coaching and choral consulting services through his company, CLR Music Consulting, LLC.

Dr. Robertson received a DMA in Choral Conducting and Literature from the University of Colorado, MME from Georgia State University and a BM in Choral Music Education from Virginia State University. He is an active member of NAfME, ACDA and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
