PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS
Why IB?
The IB Middle Years and Diploma Programs aim to develop empathetic, globally-minded citizens who will be prepared to take on leadership roles and collaborate to address the needs of the future. The program emphasizes academic breadth with opportunities for pursuing individualized, in-depth pathways. Our students pursue a wide range of pathways after high school, and for more information on college and university acceptances and attendance, please see the "College Information" page.
Research has shown that the IBMYP and IBDP prepare students for success in high school and beyond. Key findings from research include:
"...Previous enrollment in the MYP increases students' likelihood of participation in college preparatory coursework and achievement of college-ready scores on AP/DP exams" (Wade and Wolanin).
Diploma Program students in the United States were nearly 20% more likely to enroll in university immediately after high school ("Aspiring and Achieving: Highlighting DP and CP student research").
IB provides a well-rounded, rigorous educational experience, and we challenge our students to be the best versions of themselves both in the classroom and in the larger community. We hope you will join us as an IB Tucker Tiger!
