Welcome to the guitar program at Brookland Middle School! After years of advocacy, we finally have the first dedicated middle school guitar program in Henrico County Public Schools. Students will learn to play classical 6-string guitar in a variety of methods and styles. They will learn to strum chords and accompaniments, read and play picking style (note-by-note), and tablature. For 26/27, we will offer beginning and intermediate guitar. By the 3rd or 4th quarter, I anticipate having students work in smaller groups where students with prior experience may be able to play more challenging parts.
