Additional Information

Is course credit offered?

  • Courses offered in English 9-11, World History, US History, Economics, Government, Physical Science, Earth Science, Biology, Algebra, Geometry.

  • Each core course works alongside our school’s supplemental packets for earning A-G credit.

  • Starline Press also offers a variety of non “a-g” elective course options.

Why is it Popular?

  • Starline Press is an independent learning curriculum.

  • The workbook style appeals to students who want to work through the course at their own pace and without the need for extensive guidance.

  • Each of the thin workbooks are easily manageable.

  • Good option for the struggling student who is behind in credits.

What will my course look like?

  • Year-long courses have approximately 10 packets per year.

  • Students will read a short passage and answer questions that follow each passage. They will write directly in the consumable workbooks and turn in their completed workbooks to their HST during LP meetings.

  • Each course includes vocabulary, fill in the blank questions, practice problems, chapter reviews, and unit tests.

  • Regular progress monitoring by the student’s learning coach (parent or other) and the HST will help ensure students complete their coursework in a timely manner.

Who corrects the student’s work?

  • The student’s learning coach (parent, HST or other) has access to the answer keys for correcting the workbooks.

  • Prior to beginning the course, the HST and family work together and establish who will grade the workbooks.

  • Answer keys are provided with courses.

  • It is recommended each packet be weighted equally in the student’s grade.

How do I collect work samples?

Starline work samples must be assignments completed through the AG Interactive Guides/Supplemental Packet.

Good to Know:

It is important to note Starline Press has been made available to help the student behind in credits needed for graduation. This curriculum is not recommended for students planning to attend college directly after high school, as it may not adequately prepare the student for the academic rigor of a college course.

Starline Press does not meet course requirements for A-G credit without the completion of the supplemental packet. This is required for all core courses. For each course, you will order the workbook set and download the supplementary packet.

Students in grades 7-12 taking high school courses have access to our school’s content specialists’ office hours and tutoring hours with their NetTutor account. Other options for support include tutoring sessions with a vendor in the student’s community.
