Additional Information
Course Protocol
● Heartland students have the option of attending live classes or watching class
recordings.
● For live classes, students will need a:
• High-speed Internet connection
• Computer or headset with a built-in microphone
• Computer webcam (camera should be on unless there is a special need).
• A quiet space free of distractions (for your sake and the sake of others).
● Students must demonstrate engagement and complete work with proficiency.
● Students have several days to complete projects and other assignments at the end of
each semester (after live sessions have been completed).
● The final day to submit projects and assignments for the first semester is January 11.
The final day for the second semester is May 31.
WorldOver Assignment Policy
● Students must submit an assignment for every course they are enrolled in no later than
seven days after beginning the course.
● At the end of the seven days, teachers will assign zeros to missing assignments.
● Students must complete assignments in a timely manner and honor the due dates set by
their teacher(s). Failure to do so may result in lower grades on late assignments.
● Parents will be notified if a student is missing assignments.
WorldOver Work Samples
● Students are required to submit a minimum of two work samples per course, per month.
● Students and parents of younger students must provide work samples to their HST.
● WorldOver will create supplementary Google work sample folders and share them with
HST’s.
● HST’s can request a student view account for Brightspace. This provides access to view
courses and what work is being assigned.
● HST’s can request a Brightspace tour by a WorldOver representative to monitor student
progress.
