Students Defend Roe v. Wade
A leaked Supreme Court opinion has revealed that the Supreme Court of the U.S. is likely to overturn Roe v. Wade, the legal precedent protecting the right to abortion in our country. As training health professionals, we support access to timely, affordable, safe, and vital reproductive care. That includes abortion.
We need your help to organize peers and stand for reproductive rights. One way you can do this is by petitioning your state lawmakers to preserve abortion access.
We created a template that students can use to build a coalition of healthcare professionals and students to petition their own state legislatures. If you live in one of the 26 states that will ban abortion if Roe v. Wade is overturned, we highly encourage you to use our template to petition state lawmakers.
Remember that advocacy is best done in a network and not in a silo. Consult reproductive rights organizations and advisors in your state about whether a petition is necessary and would be helpful before beginning the process.
