Play 1 game from the list given to you in last mondays email.
-Sing to the popcorn word
-”Memory” popcorn words
-Read Together
-Play I Spy with your child
(Refer to last week's email for instructions on each game)
For this activity you will only need your hands, soap and a whisk. (If you feeling brave you will need some paint too)
Step 1.Fill your sink up with warm water. Give your child a whisk to move the water around. Have them sing the ABC’s while whisking.
When the song is done ask them what they see?? Do you see any bubbles?
Ask your child why they think it didn’t make any bubbles.
Step 2. Add liquid soap to the warm water. Now have your child move the water with the whisk. Don't forget to sing the ABC Song What happened?
Possible questions to ask your child:
Why do you think we need to use soap when washing our hands?
Do you think its important to wash our hands before we eat?
Step 3/4.(Check out possible step 3 before doing this step.)
Now pour the soap on your child’s hands and see how many bubbles they can make while scrubbing their hands. Encourage your child to wash the front and backs of their hands, and also in between their fingers.
Possible Step 3- put some paint in your child’s hands and ask them to scrub their hands. Once done have them take a look and see the areas that they have missed. Have a discussion about how important it is to get rub all of their hands when washing.
***Please send us a photo of all the bubbles you can create with your hands only.***
Using your box that you have kept your animal in last week make a habitat for your animal.
(Items you could use are paint, play dough, creative materials, etc)
Remember to think about the things you might see around your animal in the ocean.
Some questions to think about:
What would you see below your ocean animal- Would there be sea weed? Would there be coral? Would you see rocks?
If you want to get even more detailed, think about what you would see above your ocean animal-
Would there be boats? People fishing? Plants floating?
