SPOTIFY ON SILENCE!?
SPOTIFY ON SILENCE!?
Adrian Navarro
As you all know, The state of New Jersey had just recently passed a new law stating that all schools, k though 12, must enforce a “bell-to-bell” cellphone ban This includes any devices that have the ability to connect to the internet, such as smartwatches, Personal computers, and even earphones, and headphones.
For headphone use, you aren't allowed to have them in your ear, even if they are wired. They can see it around your neck, and they can't see it out period. The same goes for cellphones and other devices.
Students state wide protest. Some were confused, others were upset.
Remy Cachioli, a High Tech student had this to say. “It's so hard to walk in the halls without them. I can't even take them out in class”
Roxy Rubin , Another student at high tech also said “ the day goes so slow, they don't even allow wired headphones I .Used to listen to music all the time, now im forced to take them off every time I walk inside the building“
Now here brings a question: do headphones/ music help with educational learning?
One student said “It helps me focus on my work and blocks out unwanted noise”.
This brings up another question, what about the students who are required to wear headphones from their doctors. Or they simply cannot focus without it. As there is scientific proof that they will better succeed when they are provided headphones. This includes people with sensory regulation issues. However, this question can be very quickly be solved by a doctor’s note.
