*A Little Bit About Senegal*
Senegal is a country in West Africa also known as the Republic of Senegal (officially). It is well-known for its vibrant capital- Dakar, colorful buildings, rich culture, and beautiful beaches. The inhabitants of the country speak French as Senegal is one of the 29 francophone countries. We often associate French with Europe, but this language has played an essential influence on many other nations outside of France than we give credit for. Senegal just happens to be one of those lucky countries.
Overall, our class is proudly representing Senegal and its francophone culture!

BLACK HISTORY MONTH-
We watched an inspiring documentary about Josephine Baker. Some classmates thought this about Josephine Baker-
Josephine Baker's story inspired me because she proved that it does not matter what race you are, as long as you work hard and have faith, you can reach success.
She inspired me to continue to follow my dreams no matter the number of challenges I faced in life
Josephine Baker inspires me to practice harder and do better than before.

Older Activities-
What We Did This Thanksgiving:
On Thanksgiving, we wrote "Thank You" letters in French to our loved ones as a way to show those around us how much we appreciate them.
What We Did This Noel:
For Noel (Christmas) we played many games such as Kahoot and Quizlet to help us all learn more about French culture during the Holidays. We also were given the chance to send out letters to Senior citizens in Quebec, Canada wishing them all a Joyeux Noel from here in the States! In addition, we even got to bake/cook delicious French cuisine for our French Cooking day. Some images down below might give you an idea of the fun things we were able to do.
THREE KINGS DAY
For Three Kings Day, we played a game where we virtually cut a King Cake (a French dessert typically made for this holiday) and we're playing to get crowned as King for the day!
Chanson- JE SUIS CHEZ MOI
On December 4th, we learned about a song called "Je Suis Chez Moi" by Black M. The song dealt with race and being proud of one's roots and culture. It was interesting to see how the singer tied in many French references into the song whilst simultaneously promoting a positive message about acceptance and equality.
