INTRODUCTION

The Vietnam war was a major proxy war that took place in the Asian country of Vietnam. It lasted from 1954-1975, but all American troops were withdrawn by 1973. The main combatants were north Vietnam with the Vietcong versus South Vietnam with the US. Since this war lasted 21 years, we will only describe major conflicts in which the Americans were involved in.
