Students may not arrive on campus before 8:15 A.M. unless they are officially registered for Wildcat Time. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, students proceed directly to the bathroom to wash their hands upon arrival. After hand washing, they may proceed to either obtain breakfast from the cafeteria to eat in their first class or go directly to their first class of the day. Students must remain in their assigned class. Please let car riders out near the rear gym doors and not in the front lot. Students do not have permission to leave campus after arriving without being signed out in the office by a parent or guardian.
Any student in the hall during class time must be accompanied by a staff member. Students out of assigned areas are subject to disciplinary action.
A committee will determine the effect that absences have on a student’s grade after 5 absences in any given nine week period. The committee at East Lake shall consist of the social worker, grade level teachers, the guidance counselor, an administrator, and the student and guardian.
Students are to be in class prior to 9:00. Students arriving after this time are counted as tardy and will need to report to the attendance clerk. Students are required to sign in to all classes if tardy and receive a teacher consequence.
If you move during the school year, the parent must come to the school to fill out an official withdrawal form. Students should turn in all classroom books, library books, Chromebooks, and get grades from each teacher after being withdrawn by the guardian.
All debts must be cleared before records can be released to another school.
Having your child at East Lake Academy can be a wonderful experience. However, it is important to follow guidelines of professionalism.
1) Children should not attend faculty meetings or other school-related meetings such as parent conferences, grade level meetings or meetings with administrators.
2) Children should not be left unattended in your classroom while you attend meetings.
3) Children should not be sent to run errands to the office after school.
4) Please make childcare arrangements for your children on non-student days. They should not be at school with you on these days.
5) If your child is sick, it is not appropriate to have your child in your classroom.
6) There are, at times, unique circumstances that warrant your child visiting you during the school day. In these instances, approval from the principal must be requested at least 48 hours in advance.
