The summer of 2012, the inaugural class of the Duchossois scholars, Christina, Peter, and Caroline, embarked to Australia to learn leadership skills at Adelaide at the Engineering Leadership Convention. Some of their experiences include touching the ocean, watching a performance at the Sydney Opera House, and adventuring to the Sydney Fish Market. At the conference, the speaker gave examples of different types of leaders, closing with how good leaders build teams and make their workplaces trusting environments. Furthermore, the speaker emphasized how good leaders learn how to follow by building their way to the top through honesty, skill, approachability, and relatability to their peers. This trip was filled with leadership development and new experiences!
