Professor Segre is a Professor of Physics, Deputy Director, Materials Research Collaborative Access Team (MRCAT), Director, Center for Synchrotron Radiation Research and Instrumentation (CSRRI), Deputy Director, BioCAT, and of course, a Duchossois Leadership Professor. He earned his B.S at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and his Ph.D at University of California, San Diego. His research gravitates around the structure and electronic properties of complex materials including superconducting, magnetic, catalytic, and energy storage materials. This includes working with advanced chemical methods, properties of battery and magnetoelectric materials, and development of x-ray optics. He also is involved with the International Bridge Building Committee, where they organize the Chicago Regional Bridge Building Contest each winter. Professor Geoff Williamson
Geoff Williamson is a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and an associate dean in Armour College of Engineering. He earned his BS, MS, and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from Cornell University. His research centers on processing of signals and control of dynamic systems, especially with respect to time series analysis for system representation and parameter estimation. He currently is pursuing the modeling and classification of blood pressure and flow dynamics in the kidney for the purpose of ameliorating kidney disease cause be elevated blood pressure. He is a recipient of Illinois Tech's Board of Trustees' Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award. More information: https://www.iit.edu/directory/people/geoffrey-williamson Contact: williamson@iit.edu
