For the final project that we will be participating in-yeah, this is the last stand, guys-we were given the choice of any one piece of the technology in our teacher's expansive library of amazing pieces of technology to work with-even being given the choice to go back to things we've already done. I, myself, went back to my favorite project- Bloxels. Yeah, I know I just did that, but my main takeaway from that project is that I wished I could've explored more. And that is what I'll do. For this level, I wanted more of a focus on platforming. I included sequences where there is precise platforming and aim is needed, or you'll fall into a spike pit with enemies in it. You have to be very accurate and precise in your jumps. Otherwise you fail. This is an improvement over my earlier designs because it is much more involved and attention-centric. I learned during this project that I can do some really cool stuff if I focus and really learn the mechanics of a program. This ties into a career in level design. This opens up possibilities as a programmer of levels for a video game because it introduces new ideas constantly, so you can start to see things you can do for a level in a game. Something I'dve done differently is to maybe make it longer... I didn't want it to drag on, though, so I stuck with two screens of content. Speaking of content, here's some ideas!
.Code a water level
.Code a level where you literally just step forward once to win.
.Code a level where you walk forward for a long time to win
.Code a level where you jump once to win
.Code an enemy gauntlet level
.Code a level where you die instantly
.Code a level where you just cannot beat anything.
.Code a level where you are dropped into a pit of stormtroopers
.Code a level where you are stuck inside a box and cannot get out
.Code a level where the level is shaped like Luke Skywalker's face
.Code a level where you stand on a block above an abyssal chasm
.Code a level where there are billions of coins just sitting there
.Code a level where there is flat ground and then a jet that launches you off the edge
.Code a level where it's on the Death Star. *Imperial March starts playing in the background*
.Code a level where you're Luke.
.Code a level where you're Darth Vader
.Code a level where there's just a lot of R2D2s to talk to
.Code a level full of jet boostie things
.Code a level full of C3POs
.Code a level full of Obi-Wans
.Code a level full of Tuscan Raiders
.Code a level full of Jawas.
.Code a level full of spike floors
.Code a level that literally spawns you at the finish line
.Code a level where you can only jump and talk to character, who say snide and rude things to you...
And I again used the Bloxels grid board to make this level. I'll show you the layout and format of the blocks!
