• For my project, I used an Adafruit Circuit Playground, my iPad, and my computer to create a spinner game. The game starts with some money, and when you spin, you either win more or lose some money depending on the color the spinner lands on. I made this game because I thought it would be a fun way to learn something new. It was a great way to challenge myself while still having fun.

• While working on the project, I learned how to make the dot move across the screen. I thought it was really cool because I had never done that before, and it made the game feel more real and interactive. I was excited to see my game become more like a real game because of this new skill I picked up.

• The project connects to the "Innovative Designer" standard because I used what I learned to create a brand-new game. It was fun to think about how I could use different things to make the game work and look better. I came up with ideas for my project and put them together to create something new.

• One challenge I had was fixing the game so that it didn't spin twice if I clicked it twice in one go. At first, the game would mess up if I clicked too fast. To fix it, I used a "pause" block and took it out of the "forever" block, which helped the game work properly. It felt really good to figure out the problem and fix it!

• If I had a chance to do this again, I would change how the money is shown on the screen. Right now, the money doesn’t show at all, so players can’t see how much money they have. I would want to show the money more clearly so that the players can always know how much they have when playing.

• The Hastings High School Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program offers many different programs like Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, and more. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program because I created a game and worked through the design process. This project also connects to careers in game development, because I designed and improved a game that others can enjoy.

• This project connects to game development because I created and improved a game for others to enjoy. It helped me understand how game developers design games, solve problems, and make games fun for players. I learned about the process of testing and fixing issues to make the game better. Working on this project showed me the steps involved in making a game enjoyable for everyone.
