Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
in a team
What materials will you need for your project?
cardboard, glue, and crayon.
What is your plan to create in this project?
a basketball hoop
What unique qualities will your project have?
cool paint.
my group and i made our list of ten good ideas, for the 7p2 cardboard project.
we started the project with the project.
we made the ball for our game with hot glue, tinfoil, and ping pong ball.
we put melted crayon on the ball today and then we added the hoop to the rest of it
we made a new ball and we made a return ramp.
we redisighned the hoop a little because it broke a little but it will be ok.
we fixed the hoop then we painted the hoop.
we added side blockers to stop the ball from falling out of the hoop also did the rules for the game.
Using cardboard, I created a basketball hoop because we thought it was a cool idea. Me and my team made this because we all liked basketball. We were going to make a different project but while we were working we saw that it looked like the start to a basketball hoop so we made one and it turned out really cool.
During this process, I learned how to make cool things with melted crayon. It was very cool you put the crayon in the hot glue gun and after a while it made really cool melted crayon. What we made with it was the ball we covered a ping pong ball with hot glue then we melted the crayon and then covered it with the melted crayon.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to computational thinker because me and my squad made our project step by step. we started with finding the box to start with. Then we made a back wall to it and added a piece of green felt. and then made the balls with the melted crayon. Then we made the hoop with 2 pieces of cardboard. then we painted the hoop and stuff with really cool blue paint.
A challenge I overcame on this project was the hoop. I was able to do it by talking with my group and design thinking. we talked about how we would make and what we would make it with.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the hoop. The reason why I would change it is because it does not look as good as the rest of the project. we used popsicle sticks and duck tape for it. the gray tape with the light blue tape did not look good it looked pretty bad.
