A neighborhood/town
What unique qualities will your project have?
It's color & design
Day 1
List of 10, planning questions, and started experimenting with the software.
Day 2
Design the city/background set
Day 3
Made a new scene and coded some more.
Day 4
Finished making scenes and coding.
Using CoSpaces, I created a town because I haven't tried coding in years and knew how to make a city. So, I tried doing something I already kinda learned how to do. Doing something you're already good at when experimenting is good because then you're building on one of your already set skills.
During this process, I learned how to use CoSpaces. Learning how to code can be helpful if I ever get a tech job because I would have some experience before coding. Another reason knowing how to code can be useful is because it teaches you how to solve problems. After all, when coding, you must solve problems constantly. In conclusion, coding is helpful because it teaches problem-solving and furthers your technology knowledge.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to the class standard Knowledge Constructor because I had to look up how to use the software. Another reason my project connects to being a Knowledge Constructor is that I had to look up how to use the website to make my project.
A challenge I overcame on this project was not knowing how to use CoSpaces and code. I could do it by looking up tutorials that the website had published themselves and trying to copy them. Another challenge I faced was not knowing what to make, so to combat that, I just added things as I went and tried to connect them to some storyline/theme.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the storyline. The reason why I would change it is because it felt like I had no idea what I was doing so if I were to do this again, I would make sure I had a better plan before going into it. The reason why having a plan is so important is because it helps make your ideas easier to follow.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to the CTE Computer Programming because to make my town, I coded the actions of two characters that live in the town.
My project connects to careers in Computer Programming because I coded a storyline in CoSpaces. Using the website Indeed, it says that Computer Programmers use a variety of computer languages to develop, test, and fix programs. The National average for a Computer Programmer is $68,000.
