Day 1
Planning questions, list of 10 and found a reference photo.
Day 2
Changed what I was making, found new reference photo, & starting attempting it in Tinkercad.

Started making pot design/shape and made stem shape.

Finished design & started on reflections.

I created a flower because I saw this cute 3D-printed flower on the internet that I wanted to try to make. 3D-printed plants are a good idea because if you aren't confident in your plant caretaking abilities but still want the aesthetics of having plants in your home and you can save a plant by just printing one. Furthermore, 3d printed plants are good because they save plants' lives.
During this process, I learned how to design a flower in tinkercad, This can be useful if I want to make another plant 3d print because then I'll be even more experienced in creating different types of plants. Another way this knowledge can be useful is because making more 3d prints makes you more knowledgeable in making them so if you ever have to 3d print like a part for something that broke you'll be well experienced in the design software enough to make the part. In conclusion, learning how to design a flower can be useful for making other plants and knowing the software.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I used the internet to develop what to make. Another reason my project ties to being an Innovative Designer is that I kept testing to see which stem and leaves looked better on the flower and were easier to print.
A challenge I overcame on this project was making the petals for the flower and their placement. I was able to do it by trying multiple different shapes and seeing what looked the best and easiest to print. This was an issue because petals are the statement piece of a flower so if the shape didn't look good it would ruin the whole design.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the pot design. The reason why I would change it is because I don't think it adds anything to the design. Another reason I'd change the pot design is because I don't think it looks that good and it's unneeded.

My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to Engineering Design because according to the website nagb.gov Engineering Design is an iterative, systematic process for solving problems that involves creativity experience, and accumulated disciplinary knowledge. This means my project connects to Engineering Design because I used my knowledge from my last 3d print which was a cactus to know how to make the plant's structure and I used a reference picture but gave my own creative spin on it.
My project connects to careers in Engineering Design because I designed a cactus using a computer program. Using the website Indeed, it says that a Design Engineer is someone who develops new designs and projects. The National average for a Design Engineer is 89,050.
