My Movie 8.movThis is a story about a sailor saving a drowning man in the ocean. It depicts things such as the man being saved, dragons, saving others in need, etc.

For my project, I used the iMotion app to create a stop motion video that tells the story of a sailor rescuing a drowning man. I chose this theme because the base plate I had was ideal for representing a water setting, and it was definitive that we made a positive story, which helped bring the scene to life effectively.
During this project I learned how to effectively animate using stop-motion techniques, and how to bring my characters to life in a story.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I pushed myself to learn a new skill and improve on it in class.
While I was working on this project, a challenge I overcame during this project was when I couldn't move the waves on the base-plate fast enough to get many frames, I overcame this however, by not connecting the pieces to the base.
Given a chance to do this project again, I would start with my placing technique from the beginning, and focus more on the project, I would do this so I could capture more frames and make a longer story.
The Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, and Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Digital Multimedia, as I created a digital work that can only be accessed digitally.
My project connects to careers in animation because I made what seems to be moving pictures telling a story, the fundamentals of animation.
