Am I working by myself?
Yes I will!
What do I need?
I'll need the website (tinkercad) to make my design, and a 3d printer!
What am I going to make?
I'm going to make a silly thing I can put on my shirt saying : "please don't yell at me, I'll cry."
What makes my project unique?
I think that it's really silly, it's useful (because people won't yell at me) and I'll also add my own pin part, so it's a functional pin!
List of ten ideas!
1) A little silly book mark
2) Some goofy guy to hold my phone up
3) A little sign saying something goofy ( I'm not sure anymore )
4) croc charm
5) A pencil holder thing I can put on my sketch book so I don't loose another pencil ever again
6) Name badge
7) A silly emotional support guy
8) A cookie cutter of one of my characters
9) A little sign I can put in my room to remind me to do stuff ( I can't remember anything, ever)
10) (another) Sign saying to "kindly shut up"
Day One
I looked around at other student's work to get an idea of what I will be making. I made my list of ten ideas afterwards.
Day two
I started the base of my project (It took a while because I was extremely confused), and It is the start of my little sign!
Day three
I've finished the little pin-sign-thing's major design today - from here, I'll mostly be adding small details and toying with other things.
Day four
I've redone the handle- but will most likely redo it again, as I can't find a version of the handle I like the most. I've also changed the size of the pin.
Day five
I've done the handle- once again- and I'm probably not going to work on it any further because it's kind of annoying.
Day six
I'm probably done with the pin, all I've done today is work on this page and readjusted the size of the pin.
Using the website, tinkercad and a 3D printer, I created a small pin saying; "please don't yell at me, I'll cry" because I will cry if some one yells at me and I want people to not yell at me.
During this process, I learned how to take my skills from the last project, to help me enhance my skills of using 3D objects online to make bigger projects.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge Constructor because I've used and created experiences within using 3D objects online to create bigger things.
A challenge I overcame on this project was finding the version of the handle that looked the best. I was able to do it by redoing the handle multiple times, going through different types and techniques to find the version that was the best I could have.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the handle/bar. The reason why I would change it is because it doesn't look very good on the body of the pin, and I was never really able to figure out how the bar should've looked.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the digital multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in 3D designing because for this project, I was using 3D designs and models to create my final project that was printed.
